Raducanu advanced to round three in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu will not compete in the last two tournaments this season as a result of a health issue that has affected her in recent days.

The 22-year-old had planned to participate in tournaments in Tokyo and Hong Kong but chose to travel back to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans will include trainer Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering for the upcoming season.

Raducanu underwent blood pressure monitoring in her opening round with Ann Li in Wuhan and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She again required medical attention at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving noticeably restricted in the final set in the match with Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her on several occasions in 2025.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 for the first time for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event.

The player achieved twenty-eight matches in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at March's Miami Open.

Ranked first in Britain advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro on the way prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The first plan with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions in the coming months.

She mentioned that a three-day test period with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she reached the third round prior to losing to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
