Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 ended with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the beginning that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who enjoy a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look out of place, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the team access locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in search of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Questers and Strategists groups.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
