Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former physician has been charged with performing assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
The Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault ā comprising some against children younger than 13 ā between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, āOur prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.ā
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators called a ācomplex investigationā into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked individuals with information to contact the relevant police force.
